Died At Olathe Kansas Oct. 1st 1893, John W. Sutton, aged 72 years. Funeral services were held at the family residence on East Park street on Monday Oct. 2nd at 2 o'clock p. m. Mr. Sutton was an old and highly respected citizen of this city: was one of the most prominent business men of Olathe when we established the News Letter in 1870. The firm of Sutton & Pellett was one of the institutions of Johnson county, and will be remembered by all the old citizens. Mr. Sutton has been in feeble health for several years, and his death was no surprise to his many life long friends. In the death of Grandpa Sutton, Olathe and Johnson county loses a good citizen and a noble hearted man. It is with sorrow and regret that we announce the death of our old friend and fellow citizen John W. Sutton. The many friends of the family have the sympathy of the entire community in their sad bereavement. Father Sutton has simply paid the debt that all must pay, sooner or later. Peace to his ashes.
