The Life of William Hudson Ragsdale

William Hudson RAGSDALE aged 80 years died Tues, Dec 18 at his home, 133 South Walnut Street. He was a Civil War veteran having served in the 13th Iowa Infantry, and was with Sherman in his famous march to the sea.
William was born in Spencer, Indiana in 1843 and moved with his parents to Iowa as a young boy. On April 28, 1872 he married Catherine NICHOLS and had been married for 57 years. They had four sons, two of whom preceded him in death.
In 1876 the REAGDALES moved from Iowa to Western Kansas in covered wagon. 15 years prior to his passing, the family to Johnson County, KS near Olathe and the last 8 years in the city of Olathe.
Surviving are the widow, and two sons, Thomas J. of Nevada, MO and Thaddeus of Washington and two grandsons, William Hudson and Wyltsie, sons of Thaddeus.
Funeral were held in the Julien Chapel with Rev. E.M. DANIELS officiating. Interment was in the Olathe cemetery.
