The Life of Stephan G. Thomas
S. G. THOMS DIES SUDDENLY.
The many friends of S. G. Thomas were greatly pained last Saturday evening to hear of his sudden death, on his farm, a few miles west of Olathe. He had not been well for some time, suffering from neuralgia of the heart. Saturday after eating a hearty dinner, he complained of pains in the region of his heart and in a short time grew unconscious, dying about five o'clock in the evening. He was 74 years of age last August. He came to Johnson county in 1868 and from that time has been identified with the interests of the county. It was his request that few things should be said in his obituary and complying with his desire, the words here regarding the worthy man and good citizen are few.
Funeral services were held from the home Monday, Rev. Mr. Steiner of Alma, former pastor of the Congregational church here, officiating.
