Mrs. Mary J. Shinn died at the family residence, on South Water street, in Olathe, on Wednesday evening of last week. The funeral services were held in the Congregational church on Thursday at 3 o'clock p. m. The deceased was born May 5th, 1842, in Harrison county, West Virginia. Oldest child of ten children. Her father, Isaac Nay, was and is still a minister of the South M. E. church. Her mother, Lottie Nay, has gone on before her. The deceased was married at 18 years, to Solomon Shinn, of Shinston, Harrison county, West Virgina. They left West Virginia sprlng of 1867, and moved to Hancock county, Ill. In fall of 1877 moved to Kansas where they have lived since. She was the mother of four children all of whom live to mourn their loss, and rejoice in her gain.
