The Life of Julia Paul

MRS. JULIA PAUL.

Mrs. Julia Paul, a former resident of Olathe who has been living with her son, Silas, at Joplin, Mo., for several years past died suddenly in that town the other day from organic heart trouble. Mrs. Paul had been around the house all day as lively as ever and had got up from the supper table after eating a bowl of soup, and gone into her bedroom, when her daughter-in-law heard a noise in the room as of some one in distress, and on going into the room found Mrs. Paul gasping for breath and lying on the bed. She called her husband who at once summoned a physician, but the old lady never regained  consciousness and was dead wnen the doctor reached the house. The son brought the remains to Olathe for burial on Monday of this week and brief services were held at the grave, conducted by Rev. Edgar of the Covenanter Presbyterian church. Mrs. Paul was a woman of strong Christian character and was a member of the Methodist church,so we are informed. Her son was in the employ of George Beach for many years in his store at the corner of Chestnut, and Park street, where Markham now does business. Mrs Paul was over 84 years of age at the time of her death.
