MRS. MILLER DEAD.

Mrs. Ellen Miller, wife of M. G. Miller, died, at her home Sunday evening, June 14 at 8 o'clock, after a brief illness of but three days. The sad news of her death came as a shock to all for, though she had been an invalid for years, not even her own family expected the end was so near.

Mary Ellen Phenicie was born July 14, 1844, in Steuben county, Ind., near Angola. With her parents she moved to Freemont, Ind., in 1853 and in 1859 to Branch county, Michigan, where she lived until she was married to M. G. Miller in 1867. After tneir marriage they came direct to Kansas and lived at St. Marys for two years coming to Olathe in 1869. With the exception of five years, from 1891 to 1896, when she and her two daughters lived in California for her health, Mrs. Miller has continued to reside in Olathe. The end came peacefully, closing a life which for 25 years had never been free from suffering and which neither travel or medical skill could relieve. The funeral was held from the home at 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon, the services being conducted by Rev. Edwin McNutt of the Presbyterian church, of which the deceased was a member. Beautiful floral tributes from friends covered the casket. The members of the family who survive her are her husband, two daughters, Jessie and Louise, Mrs. A. E. Farnham and a brother in Indiana.
