Mary B. Amos was born April 20, 1830 at Philadelphia, Pa., and died at the home of a daughter in Gibbon, Neb., on Tuesday afternoon, August 12, 1913. When a child she moved with her parents to Columbus, Ohio, where she grew to womanhood and in 1853 she was married to John Anthony Lane. They moved to Johnson county, Kansas in 1808 and lived on a farm west of Olathe until Mr. Lane died since which time Mrs. Lane has made her home with a daughter in Illinois. She was visiting in Nebraska at the time of her death.

She was the mother of nine children, three of whom, with her husband, preceded her to the beyond. Mrs. Lane was a life long member of the Methodist church, and she is now at rest with the family of the redeemed in the church triumphant. The remains were brought to Olathe and funeral services were conducted from the home of Miss Eva Orr, Friday afternoon at 3 o'clock, by Rev. Zook, after which interment was made in Olathe cemetery.
