  1. D.MASON DEAD.

Mr. L. D. Mason died at his home on South Cherry street Saturday, May 11, at the age of 64 years, 1 month and 20 days. Funeral services were held at the residence Sunday afternoon, May 12, at 3 o'clock, conducted by Rev. A. M. Buchanan, pastor of the First Presbyterian church, and burial was in Olathe cemetery.

 Lorenzo Dow Mason was born March 21, 1848, at Goodings Grove, Will county, Illinois. When 18 years of age he moved to North English, Iowa, and engaged in the harness business and later engaged in farming and stock raising in Iowa county, Iowa. He was married October 1, 1868, to Miss Ida Hall. To this union four children were born, two of whom, Mr. Walter B. Mason and Miss Maude Mason, both of this city, together with their mother, survive. He is also survived by one granddaughter, two sisters and two brothers.

In 1893 Mr. Mason moved to Missouri and engaged in the furniture and undertaking business, and in 1900 he came to Olathe, where he has since resided. He united with the First Presbyterian church of Olathe in 1906 and was a consistent and faithful member. Mr. Mason was a highly respected man, an honored citizen, and a power for good in the community.
