OBITUARY

A mention was made last week of the death of Mrs. Jacob Gras. Following is a more extended notice of the deceased, gathered from data not in our possession last week:

Miss Mary Katherine Dolsi was born at Mascouth, Ill., September 5, 1864, and died October 23, 1907. She was therefor 42 years, 1 month and I8 days old at the time of her death.

When she was one year old she immigrated with her parents to Johnson county, Kansas settling at DeSoto, where the family resided for a number of years, finally moving to Eudora where she lived until her marriage Oct. 15, 1890, to Jacob Gras, a merchant of this city, where she has held her residence until the day of her death.

To the union thus formed there were born four children, Emma, Carl, Rose and Christine, all of whom, save the latter, who died in early infancy, survive the mother.

Mrs. Gras was an intelligent lady, living devoted to her little family, administering to the welfare of her loved ones with all the love and faithfulness of a noble woman as she was.

She was with her husband much in his place of business, aiding in her advice and labor to make the enterprise a success; contributing no little to prosperity enjoyed by her faithful husband. She had been ill for several years, still was not confined to her bed until very recently when she grew worse and gradually became weaker by the ravages of the disease until death came and relieved the sufferer. Funeral exercises were held at the home last Wednesday, Rev. Mr. Shedd officiating. Interment was in Olathe cemetery.
