 Another Veteran and Old Citizen Called To Rest

Robert J. Henry died at his home last Thursday morning following of attack of acute indigestion which brought on complications of the heart.

Robert J. Henry was born in Clarion county, Pennsylvania, August 25, 1839 and lived there until 1879 when be came to Kansas and has since resided in Johnson county,

 On the breaking out of the Civil War he enlisted in Company C, of the Sixty-Second Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry where he served a year and then joined Company L of the Ninety-Eighth Infantry and served the remainder of the war.

By his first wife, who died in 1902. six children were born, five of whom survive him.The children are Mrs.Wm. Winters of Kansas City. Kansas who is dead; Dr. E. H. Henry of Deepwater, Mo.; Mrs. Jennie Null, of ' Spring Hill; F. M. Henry, of Rosedale, Kansas; Mrs. Anna Norvell, of Kansas City, Kansas, and Mrs. May Lindenwood, of Paola.

In 1906, Mr. Henry was married. to Mrs. Abbie Norris, who survives him. Mr. Henry farmed until 1900 when, on account of a sunstroke, he moved to town. He was an active member Frankllin Post, G.A. R. and in the Presbyterian church of which he has been an elder here and elsewhere for over forty-five years

He was a charter member of the Grange in Pennsylvania, one of the first to be organized and continued until active until his death.

Mr. Henry was vigorous physically and mentally, always taking an active interest in public affairs. He was broadminded and generous in' his estimates of people and made a host of friends who mourn his departure from this life.
