The Life of Robert F Johnson

Mr. Robert Johnson who died on Wednesday of last week at his late residence in this city, was born in Summerset, Summerset county, Pennsylvania, in 1818, where he received the advantages of the best schools the country afforded. Before he arrived at man's estate, he moved to Lewlston, Fulton county, Illinois, where he soon became actively identified with many public enterprises there.
He was recognized as a man of excellent busines qualifications and irreproachable integrity and as an evidence of the esteem in which he was held by the people and his party - Democratic -  he was elected to the office of Sheriff of that county.
He also served his country faithfully, as second lieuten ant in the Mexican war. He leaves a wife, five daughters, one son and a host of friends. His remains were buried on Thursday at the Olathe cemetery under the auspices of the Masonic fraternity, a large number of sympathizing relatives and friends attending. Among those present from a distance were Mrs. M. Eichelburger and grand daughter, of Lewistown, Ill., Mrs. Jos. Leeds, Topeka, Kan. , Mrs. Kreuter, Chanute, Kan. , Mrs. J. B. Craig, Piqua, Kan., Mrs. H. E. Long, Wellington, Kan., Mrs. Geo. Jones. Ottawa, Kan.,
