Harley Everett Danley, was born in Washington county, Ohio, November 28, 1842 and died on December 31, 1924, aged 82 years, one month and three days.

His early life was spent on the farm and he received his education in the country schools where he qualified as a teacher and taught school for several terms. He was united in marriage to Rosamond Swift on September 22, 1861, to this union one son was born. He heard the call of his country and enlisted in Co. I, 148 O.V.I. and served his country well. He and the family moved to Illinois in 1864, where they resided until December 1867, when they moved to Johnson county, Kansas, living near Gardner until October 1899 when they moved to Andrew county, Missouri, where he lived until he passed away.

He leaves his wife, one son,Dr. Warren E. Danley, and his brother, Joseph W. Danley of Olathe to mourn his departure. His remains were laid to rest with Masonic ceremonies in Olathe, Kan., cemetery on January 3, 1925. (Olathe Mirror, Thursday, 8 January 1925)
