Verteran Kansas School Teacher Was 77 Years Old

OLATHE, KAS., Jan 28 - Miss Mary Crane, 77 years old one of the first teachers in the Johnson County public schools, died today at her home here. Miss Crane began a teaching career that extended over thirty years in the Shiloh school near Lenexa. She came to Johnson County from Slater, Mo., in 1874.

Following her retirement from the schools, Miss Crane and a sister, Miss Laura Crane, opened an abstracting and insurance agency in Olathe. Miss Laura Crane died ten years ago. Miss Mary Crane continued to operate the agency until 1933.

She leaves two sisters, Miss Flora Crane of the home and Mrs. J. F. Moberly, Hawthorne, Cal., and a brother, Edmun Crane, Olathe.

Funeral services will be held at 3 o'clock Thursday at eh Olathe Baptist church. Burial will be in Olathe cemetery.
