Death of J. W. Hunter

John Walker Hunter, a pioneer resident of Olathe, passed away at his home on East Loula street Tuesday morning, at the age of 82 years.

Mr. Hunter came to Kansas in 1872 and had long filled an honorable role in the life around him. Records show that he had been a member of the Reformed Presbyterian church in Olathe for 41 years. Much of his active life had been spent as a paper hanger.

He is survived by his wife, Mary A. Hunter, and the following children: Mrs. Anna Watt, Denver, Colo.; Miss Jennie Hunter, Washington, D. C.; and Robert Hunter, Independence, Mo.

Funeral services were held yesterday at the Reformed Presbyterian church, Rev. M. R. Jamison officiating. burial was in Olathe cemetery, in charge of the H. E. Julien Undertaking Company.
