The Life of Lucy Horsey

MRS. LUCY WALKER HORSEY

Died, at home on West Poplar street, Monday morning at 2:15 o'clock, Mrs. Lucy Walker Horsey, aged 57 years. Funeral services were held from the Methodist church. Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock, conducted by Rev. J. G. Henderson. Interment in Olathe cemetery.

Lucy Walker was born in Morgan county, Ill., April 15, 1813, and was married to S. E. Horsey, January 15, 1867. They moved to Kansas In 1873 and settled in Johnson county, and in 1883 moved into Olathe where she resided up to the time of her death. At the early age of 'fourteen she united with the Methodist Episcopal church and lived a faithful and conscientious Christian life. About six years ago Mrs. Horsey was stricken with what finally terminated in the fatal illness. During the past eight months she had been confined to her bed, and was entirely helpless. The husband and four daughters, Mrs. Mary W. Brunk of this city, Mrs. Nina Barnhart of Topeka. Mrs. Luella Greene and Miss Lena Horsey of Pomeroy, Washington, survive and mourn the loss of a loving wife and mother.
