Died on the Train.
Thos. Freeman, of Lenexa, died with diabetes last Saturday afternoon on the train between Paola and Ft. Scott. Mr. F. had been afflicted seriously with diabetes for a year or more, and by the advice of his physician he went to Florida, hoping that the salubrious climate of the land of flowers, coupled with the sea breezes from the Atlantic, might at least prolong his life. The hope was a vain one, however, and noticing that he was failing fast he started for home to die among friends and with his family; but just as the long journey was about ended, the vital spark fled without his great desire being realized. Mr. Freeman was a good true man, and he will be sadly missed by a large circle of friends among whom he had resided for the last twenty-five years.
