S. R. Filkin, an old and respected citizen of Olathe, died on last Thurs day, March 5, from a complication of diseases and old age, being eighty three years nine months and nine days old. The funeral services were conducted from his late residence on west Lulu street, Saturday, March 7, at 1 p. m., Rev. W. C. Coleman officiating in his usual able and impressive manner, and the attendance of friends and relatives who accompained the remains to the grave being numerous. Mr. Filkin was an old settler of Johnson county and had the good will and esteem of all.
