A Sad Family Bereavement.
(Chester S., Infant son of Orin and Laura Filkin, died March 14 at 4 p. m., aged one year two months and seventeen days. )
(Mamie K., youngest daughter of Oris and Laura Fllkin, died March 18 at 7 a. m., aged ten years four months and eighteen days.)
It is indeed seldom that parents are called upon to endure such a measure ef sickness and sorrow as have been Mr. and Mrs. Orin Filkin of Lackman. The sickness which resulted in the death of their two youngest children began in the form of measles, attacking each of Mr. Filkin's five children within a few days, and gradually developed into pneumonia. At one time only the faintest encouragement could be given for the recovery of any of the stricken ones. The surviving children are safely out of danger now, however. Chester S. was buried in Olathe cemetery March 16, and Mamie E. on the following Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Filkin have the sympathy of all in their bereavement.
