CHARLES CRANE DIES

Death Claims One of Olathe’s Most Admirable Citizens

Charles Louis Crane was born June 6, 1888 near Olathe, and departed this life March 19, 1931, at 7 A.M. at his home.

He was the sixth son of Albert and Hettie Crane. He was married to Gertrude Blunt in 1912 at Bartlesville, Okla.

He was a trustworthy, industrious and valuable employee and was highly admired by all his employers. For the past four years he has been a patrolman on the county roads.  His pleasant smile and sunny disposition was a pleasure to everyone he met. He was a great lover of children and was a favorite with his nieces and nephews.

He united with the First Christian church of Olathe in 1926 and has lived faithfully to the principles of his church in every way. He was chosen as a Deacon of the church and worked in harmony with hi co-laborers.

He leaves to morn hi going away, his wife, three sisters, Mrs. Minnie Platt of Garnett, Kansas; Mrs. Annie Platt, of Harris, Kansas; Mrs. Alberta Nicademous of Olathe; five brothers, Clarence of Eudora; John, Joe, Jack and Milo of Olathe; a host of nieces and nephews and a world of friends.

This world would be a better place in which to live of there were more people like Charlie. We will all miss him and hope to live a better life from having had him with us.

Funeral services were held March 21, 1931 at 2:30 at the Christian church conducted by the Rev. F.G. Davis of the Christian church. Burial in the Olathe cemetery. Olathe Funeral Home in charge.
