The Life of A H Davenport

A man about thirty-eight years old died of hemorrhage of the lungs at the Memphis depot waiting room about 2 o'clock Wednesday morning. He was evidently traveling as a tramp, but was well dressed and had a number of fountain pens which he had been selling. Letters found on his person gave his name as A. H. Davenport, but failed to show where he belonged. He was a blonde of medium height. A stock man was loading a car of calves and asked him to help, suggesting that he step into the waiting room and get warm first, but just as the poor fellow got into the warm room the blood gushed from his mouth and the night operator caught him in his arms as he fell. Death .soon brought him relief from the storms of this world. He was buried by Hammond & Hisey under direction of the coroner.
