The Life of Helen Goode Ewing

OBITUARY.

Helen Goode Ewing, the four year old and youngest daughter of Dr. and Mrs. C. W. Ewing of Wellsville, died Sunday, September 26, at 1 o'clock p. m., at the home of Mrs. Ewing's parents, Dr. and Mrs. G. T. Goode, 550 West Park street. The child was suffering from a cold but was not considered serious until she became suddenly ill Saturday night and passed to the great beyond about forteen hours afterward.

 The funeral services were held Monday, September 27, at 2:15 o'clock at the home and were very impressive. Rev. J. S. Clements, pastor of the Christian church, offered the opening prayer. Rev. L. R. South, pastor of the Wellsville M. E. church, read the scripture lesson from Corinthians 15, 35-58 and took for his text, "Suffer little Children to come unto me," Luke 18, 16-17. "The Good Shepard," was sung by Mr. Ed. Bradshaw. "Beautiful Isles of Somewhere," "When, he cometh to make his Jewels" and "The Reaper and the Flower" were rendered by a quartette composed of J. S. Preshaw, Mrs. Preshaw, Mrs. A. A. Breckeisen and Carl Preshaw, all of Wellsville.

The pall bearers were W. S. McCarthy of Kansas City, Dr. T. W. Reid of Wellsville, Charles Lane and Harlan Lanter of Olathe. The out of town people who attended the services were Mr. and Mrs. W. J. McCarthy of Kansas City, Mr. and Mrs. W. S. Hazen, Miss Rebecca Ewing of Centralia, Kas.; Mrs. T. S. Greer of Edgerton, Rev. and Mrs. L. R. South, Mr. and Mrs. J. S. Preshaw, Mrs. W. A. Dye, Mrs. A. A. Breckeisen, Mrs. A. D. Hostetter, Miss Ella Keen, Dr. T. W. Reid, O. J. Wassen, Carl Preshaw and Ralph Preshaw, all of Wellsville.
