The Life of Charles Hugh Ewing

CHARLES HUGH EWING.

Died at his late residence on South Keeler street, Olathe, Kansas, Wednesday, September. 28, 1904 at 10:30 p. m. Charles Hugh Ewing aged 30 years ten months and five days. The funeral services were held from the United Presbyterian church Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock, conducted by Rev. D. A. W. Johnson.

The funeral procession was a lengthy one and at the church a great concourse of sorrowing relatives and friends gathered to pay their last respects to the mortal remains of a young man of sterling qualities and high ambitions, who had been cut down in the very bloom of his manhood by the relentless hand of death. The immediate cause of Mr. Ewing demise was appendicitis of the more advanced stage, for which he had undergone an operation only the day previous to his death.

Charles Hugh Ewing was the third son of Mr. and Mrs. C. H. Ewing and was born and raised in Johnson county. He was conscious to the last and resigned to the inevitable, shaking hands with and bidding all good-bye with a cheerfulness in keeping with the life he had led. Three sisters and two brothers, William R. Frank and Mary E. of Sterling, Kansas, and Minnie A. and Lyda J. of Sparta, Ill., were present at the funeral.
