The Life of Agnes Dawson

A Good Woman Passes

Agnes Kelly Dawson was born Sept. 17, 1853, at Belvidere, Ill., and died at Gardner, Kansas, Dec. 7, 1929, aged 76 years, 2 months and 20 days.

With her parents she moved to Kansas in 1859 where she grew to womanhood.

She was married to G.P. Dawson, Feb 16, 1892, and lived at Pleasanton, Kansas, until his death in 1911, after which she came to Gardener and has made her home here since that time.

Mrs. Dawson was a member of the Presbyterian church for many years and was a charter member of the Women's Missionary Society for 49 years. She was always an active worker and liberal contributor to all church societies and activities. she was quiet kindly and possessed of high ideals of duty and right living. She possessed the esteem of all who knew her and the friendship of many. her memory will long live in the hearts of friends and relatives.

Funeral services were held Monday, Dec. 9 at 2:00 p.m. at the Presbyterian church and were conducted by her pastor, Rev. I.C. Smith.

The music was by a ladies quartet composed of Mrs. H.C. Bigelow, Mrs. L.M. Blacker, Mrs. J.S. Cordell and Mrs. G. E. Robinson.

Out of town friends and relatives attending the funeral were, Mrs. E. A. Hofsess, Partridge, Kansas; Mr. Allen Millikan, Los Angeles, Calif., Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Evans, Jr., Kansas City, Mo., Mrs. W. H. Shields, and Miss Edna Shields Topeka; Mr. and Mrs. D. Clark Kelly, Kansas City, Kansas; Mr. Sam Kelly, Olathe and Mr. and Mrs. J.H. Dent, Olathe.

Interment was made in the Olathe cemetery
