The Life of Jack David Cook

Jack David Cook, 12, of Overland Park, Kan., died at his home Monday, July 7, 2014. Jack was born in Overland Park on Aug. 6, 2001. Jack was a great kid who was admired for his gentle kindness and ability to make friends with many. He had developed a passion for lacrosse and dreamed of playing in college someday. His interests also included anything electronic - robots, video games, and computers. Jack loved any and all pets, especially his two dogs, Ryder and Luna and his cat, Beaut. He was a great brother and son who will be deeply missed by all those that knew him well. Jack is survived by his sister, Bailey Cook, 16, and his parents, Robin Moody Cook and Paul David Cook. He is also survived by his grandparents, Shirley Moody, Prairie Village, and James Cook, Olathe, as well as many loving aunts, uncles, and cousins. A visitation (casual dress) will be held for friends and family of the Cooks from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday, July 13, at Porter Funeral Homes, 8535 Monrovia, Lenexa, KS 66215. A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Monday, July 14, to celebrate Jack's life also at Porter Funeral Homes, Lenexa. A private interment will follow at the Olathe Memorial Cemetery, Olathe.
