The Life of Earl Ralph Edmondson Jr

Earl R. Edmondson, 90, of Olathe, KS, passed away October 8, 2010 at his home surrounded by family. Graveside services with full military honors will be 10am, Wednesday, October 13th, at Olathe Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-7pm, Tuesday, at McGilley & Frye Funeral Home. Earl was born December 1, 1919 in Petrolia, KS to Earl and Mae (Larson) Edmondson. He married the love of his life, Leone Ponton, on December 4, 1940 in Manhattan, KS. He proudly served his country in the Army during WWII. Earl operated Eds Upholstery and Drapery Shop in Olathe for 35 years. Mr. Edmondson was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Vicky Lynn Edmondson on June 14, 1949 and his grandson, Jeffry E. Edmondson on August 29, 2010. He is survived by his wife, Leone, of the home; 2 sons, Merle (Jeanette) Edmondson of Louin, MS, Jeff (Esther) Edmondson of Gardner; daughter, Sandy (Larry) Garms of Olathe; 5 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren and 1 sister, Flora Erickson of Chanute, KS.
