The Life of Thelma Marguerite Brueck

Thelma Hart Garrett Brueck, 102, passed away Wednesday, April 20, 2011 at the Good Samaritan Nursing Center. She was born in Lakin, KS, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Charles Hart. She was a graduate of the Lakin High School, the Ward­Belmont School for Girls in Nashville, TN and the University of Kansas. She was married in 1933 to Norb Garrett, Jr. of Olathe, who died in 1961, and in 1964 married the late Karl A. Brueck of Paola, KS. 

Mrs. Brueck was a member of St. Aidans Episcopal Church of Olathe, the Olathe Chapter of D.A.R., the Hospital Auxiliary of the Olathe Medical Center, and the former Sigournean Club.She was a member of Chi Omega sorority, the K.U. Alumni Assoc., Adams Alumni Center, and The Learned Club in Lawrence. 

She is survived by her son Earl Norbert Garrett, III and wife Juliana of West Orange, NJ and three grandsons; E. N. Garrett, IV, wife Alyssa, and children Taylor and Peyton of San Clemente, CA, Dan A. Garrett, wife Kimberly, and children Dale and Sean of Reston, VA. and Nicholas Hart Garrett of Arlington, VA. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions to the Good Samaritan Nursing Center Olathe, KS.
