The Life of Susannah Brubaker

SUSANNAH BRUBAKER .

Susannah Grisso was born September 5, 1838, near Salem, Roanoke county, Virginia. She was married; to Moses E. Brubaker November 22, 1855, who proceeded her in death on October 23, 1904. To this union were  born three sons and seven daughters, all off whom survive her. They ares Mrs. H. W. Ronfc. Ratcliff; Arkansas; Mrs. R. O. Boone, Lyons, Kansas;- Mrs. J. W. Meador and Mrs. J. F. Riffey, Olathe, Kansas; E. H. Bm baker, Virden, Illinois; Mrs. F. H. Bradley, Imperial, Texas; J. W. Bru baker, Sugar City, Colorado; D. L Brubaker, Cloud Chief, Oklahoma; Mrs. C. W. Wampler, Whittier, Cali fornia; Mrs. W. R. Brubaker, Cordell, Oklahoma, all of whom were present at her funeral except Mrs. Ronk, Mrs. W. R. Brubaker and J. W. Brubaker. All of her children were permitted t see her during her illness. There also survive her, sixty-three grandchildren and fifty great-grandchildren.

All of her life, until the year 1883 when she. with her husband and chil dren, came to Olathe, Kansas, was spent near the place of her birth. Since then she has resided at Olathe and Lyons, Kansas, more recently at Olathe except such intervals as were spent in visiting with her children. In early life she united with the church of the Brethren and lived a devoted and faithful Christian life. She was called up higher on May 6, 1916, at the age of seventy-seven years, eight months and one day. The funeral service was held at the Brethren church, conducted by Rev. H. T. Brubaker. She was a devoted wife and mother, a faithful friend and a kind neighbor.
