The Life of Steve Albert Brunk

Steve A Brunk, former Johnson County Sheriff, died yesterday at Olathe COmmunity hospital. He was 67 years old. 

Mr. Brunk was sheriff from 1941 to 1945. He later served as an agent of the Kansas Alcoholic Beverage Control board. He retired two years ago. Mr. Brunk was a lifelong resident of Olathe.

He was a Methodist and a member of the Masonic lodge, the York rite, the order of the Eastern Star, and the INternational Order of Odd Fellows, Olathe. Mr. Brunk was a member of the Kansas Peace Officers association and a former  member of the Kansas State Republicans Committee. 

Surviving are his wife, MRs. Ruth L. Brunk of the home; a son, Charles A. Brunk, Red Bluff, Calif.; a daughter, Mrs. Janell Holle, Sherman Oaks, Calif.; a brother, Clarence E. Brunk, Olathe; a sister, Mrs. Mae Edwards, Bremerton, Wash., and three grandchildren. Services will be held at 2 o'clock Monday at the Frye chapel, Olathe; burial in Olathe cemetery. Friends may call from 7 to 9 o'clock Sunday night at the chapel.
