The Life of Alanson Root Carroll

PROF. A. CARROLL.
Prof. A. Carroll, for a number of years superintendent of the Olathe schools, died in Independence last Saturday and was buried in Olathe cemetery Tuesday, Rev. N. A. Shedd of the Presbyterian church officiating. Prof. Carroll served the First Presbyterian church as pastor for two years. On account of the telegrapher's strike, his sons, Chauncy M. and William E. of Butte, Mont., will not know of their father's death until after the funeral. It does seem that in case of sickness and death even strikers should be forced to recognize a duty which they owe the public and that telegraph companies should be forced to pay damages for failing to perform its obligations.
