The Life of Gladys Rebecca Booth

Gladys Rebecca Booth, 97, passed away peacefully Monday, May 28, 2012. She was born to Reuben Fletcher and Olive Mary Booth on Dec. 30, 1914, in Monon, Ind. The family moved to Olathe, Kan , in 1920. This is where she lived out her life. After attending business school, Gladys worked as an executive secretary for the Dickey Clay Co. in KCMO until retirement. Following the death of her parents she assumed the role of "Matriarch" for the large Booth family. She enjoyed nothing as much as the family gatherings at the old Booth home on K.C. Road. Family was everything to her. She was a 75-year member of the (Grace) Methodist Church in Olathe. She was preceded in death by her eight brothers, Fletcher, Paul, Gordon, Jay, John, Robert, Richard, and James. Gladys is survived by two sisters, Martha Malone and Mary Katherine Ridgway. Loving memories of her will be passed on by her 10 nieces and nephews 17 great and 22 great-great nieces and nephews. There will be no visitation. The family will have a private graveside memorial service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the March of Dimes .
