ALBERTA MARIE YOUNG, age 87, passed away July 31, 2012 in Olathe, KS. Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 2 from 6:00-8:00pm at Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home, 14275 S Blackbob Rd, Olathe, KS. Graveside services will be held on Friday, August 3 at 10:00 am at Olathe Memorial Cemetery. 
Alberta was born on June 26, 1925 in Ft. Scott, KS to Hubert and Freda Winklepleck. She married Paul A. Young on July 19, 1940 in Nevada, MO. They raised their family in the Olathe, KS where Alberta was employed with Olathe Medical Center (formerly Olathe Hospital) in the Dietary kitchen. She was also a member of Grace United Methodist Church.
Surviving family include her son Paul F. Young and wife Sharon, daughters Vicki Hawley and husband Charles, Deborah Goats and husband Dean, and Janet Mawhorter and husband Dale, grandchildren Paul K. Young, Jacquie Collins, Rick Hawley, Cindy Grover, Benjamin Spencer, Roxanne Spencer, Daniel Mawhorter, Matthew Mawhorter, and 15 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren. Preceding her in death are her husband, Paul A. Young, her brothers Delbert Winklepleck, Fred Winklepleck, and sister Leona Brooker.
