CORONER'S BUSY DAY.

ONE ACCIDENT AND SUDDEN DEATH OF NEGRO.

Make Strenuous Sunday for Coroner Hills and in Each Case Whisky Plays,the Leading Role of the Mischief Maker.

Sunday was not a day of rest for Coroner E. P. Mills by any means. Be was called for two sadden deaths, which req aired action by his office The first case was that of C. T. Wilson, white, age about 35 years -killed by falling nnder the wheels of a north bound freight On the "Katy" i tween Spring Hill and Ocheltree and badly man tried. On his Derson was found a razor in case, pocket knife, a nickel and a pint flask of whisky which was nearly empty and papers which showed' him to have a residence at Hannibal, Mo. The accident happened between 12 and 1 o'clock a. m. The remains were taken charge of at Davis' undertaking rooms, Spring Hill and were shipped from there Monday to his relatives at Hannibal.

The second case was that of Robert Yowell, colored, who was found dead in his bed at Dave Sanders' house in the north part of town. Yowell had only recently been released from jail where he had spent a greater part of the year. He was employed as a teamster by Frank Mahaffie. It appears that Saturday night he and several others received express packages from Kansas City and proceeded to make a night of it on the contents A search of the roons revealed the presence of five quart bottles which had contained whiskey and one wine bottle, and it is said that there was evidence that more bad been used but the bottles were not in sight. 

When found he was lying on the bed in an apparent stupor but a close examination revealed the fact that be was dead. The authorities were called in and the remains removed to Bvryan & Co's undertaking rooms where Drs. Greene and Lemon held a post mortem examination and the cause of death was determined as acute alcoholism The body will be buried here as he had funeral insurance and his mother who resides at Shawnee, Okla., sent word to that effect.
