The Life of Robert Young

BOB YOUNG KILLED.

Robert Young, a painter, was killed by being run over by a freight train on the Santa Fe railroad between Loula and Park streets sometime between 1 and 2 o clock Sunday morning. The body was taken to Duffy & Kean's undertaking establishment where it was later identified and arrangements made for the funeral which was held Monday afternoon from the home of Ben Scott, brother-in-law of the diseased.

As near as can be learned Young was in Kansas City Saturday evening and had returned to Olathe on the owl train. He rode down town in a hack, but volunteered to walk to the home of his relatives with whom he was boarding. Just what happened after that is problematical, but the supposition is that he found a train on the crossing and when he endeavored to climb through or under the train it started up and he was thrown under the wheels. Another theory is that he had been drinking and had sat down on the side of the track and went to sleep and when the freight came along he was ground to death beneath the wheels.
