The Life of Effie Laura Boles

Death of Mrs. William Boles.

 Another decided shock to the people of Olathe city and Olathe township was the death of Mrs. William Boles which occurred at 8 o''clock Monday night, at the family home on South Grant street. Funeral service was held at the cemetery at 2 o''clock Wednesday afternoon, conducted by Rev. H. T. Brubaker, with singing by the Methodist choir.

Just one week had Mrs. Boles been ill with influenza, which developed Into pneumonia just three days before her death. Her husband had been ill with the same disease, and she had been caring for him. Effie Meador was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Meador and was born and raised in Olathe township, Grand View neighborhood After she had finished her schooling she took special work to become a teacher and taught several successful terms in Johnson county schools.

She was married four years since to William Boles, who with the three year old daughter, Mary Edith, survives. Her parents and sister, Edith, also survive.

Early in life she joined the Church of the Brethren, and has always been active in the work of the church and in doing good to mankind at large. At the present time she was assistant superintendent of the Sunday school, and a teacher in the young people’s class. Her kindly ways wand every-ready smile greatly endured her to all acquaintances.
