The Life of Sara Jayne Breyfogle

Sara Jayne Breyfogle, 86, of Leawood, Kansas, passed away on April 17, 2014 at her home with her loved ones by her side. Sara Jayne will always be fondly remembered and loved for her outgoing personality and way of lighting up any room she entered. Sara Jayne was born July 12, 1927 in Kansas City, Missouri, to Dr. Jay D. Scott and Nadyne Waddle Scott. Dr. Scott was the first dentist to open up a practice on the Country Club Plaza. Sara Jayne graduated from the Sunset Hill School and then attended the University of Kansas where she received her degree in Education. She was a member of the Pi Beta Phi sorority. She was also a member of the honorary educational society, Pi Alpha Theta. Sara Jayne married Hugh Kreamer and raised their three children Scott Kreamer, Kate and David in Olathe, Kan. Sara Jayne was active in numerous clubs and organizations. She was a founder of the Olathe Service League, chairman and founder of the annual Hospital Christmas Ball, president of the Chrysanthus Club, and was recognized for serving more than 2,000 hours as a volunteer at the Olathe Community Hospital. Sara Jayne was also c dedicated teacher for over 20 years, primarily in Olathe elementary schools. In 1972, Sara Jayne married John W. Breyfogle, Jr. Sara Jayne and John lived in Scottsdale, AZ, where they resided for 32 years They were members of the Paradise Valley Country Club and the Arizona Country Club where Sara Jayne enjoyed playing tennis. John and Sara were avid travelers and enjoyed many trips across the globe. John and Sara Jayne spent their summers at their home in Colorado near Vallecito Lake, northeast Oi Durango. They always had a beautiful garden and planted dozens of flowers every summer. They both loved playing bridge and entertained many friends and family at their summer home. Sara Jayne moved back to Kansas City in 2004 to be near her family. She resided in Leawood and enjoyed the antics of her beloved Maltese, Gigi. She was preceded in death by husband, John W. Breyfogle, Jr.; her son David Kreamer and her stepson Bill Breyfogle. She is survived by her son Scott, his wife Karen and grandson Sam; her daughter Kate Kreamer and partner Laurie Williams; her daughter-in-law Sue Kreamer, granddaughter Lindse) Fucillo and grandson Kyle; her sister Jadeen Rivard and her husband Mark and their children and  grandchildren; her stepson Robert Breryfogle, his wife Carolyn and their children Stuart and Lisa; and her stepdaughter, Ann Johnson and her children Emily and Shanti. The family appreciates the compassionate care given to Sara Jayne by her primary caregiver, Angie Renfro. Sara Jayne's sister, Jadeen Rivard, passed away on April 27, 2014. The family wishes to express the great love and affection that Sara Jayne and her family had for 'Dee Dee'. They will both be missed by all. There will be a private service and burial for Sara Jayne al a later date at the Olathe Memorial Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society.
