The Life of Orbie Monroe Elliott DC

Dr. O.M. “Doc” Elliott, 84, Olathe, Kansas, passed away Thursday, August 16, 2012 at his home. The familysuggests contributions to the church and/or Hospice of Olathe Medical Center.

Doc was born November 7, 1927 in Union, Arkansas. He married Dorothy Via (who preceded him in death in1988). Doc then went on to Logan Chiropractic College in St. Louis, Missouri, and then went on to serve hiscountry in the U.S. Army during WWII. After he graduated from Chiropractic College he moved to Olathe where he practiced for 42 years, retiring in 1998. Following his retirement he worked at the Penwell-GabelFuneral Home.

He was a member of the Board of Education of the Olathe Schools from 1977-1993 serving as President of the board for two terms where he received the “Distinguished Service Award honoring his years served. Doc was a past president of the Olathe Area Chamber of Commerce, Olathe Noon Optimist, Olathe Santa Fe Trail Rotary Club, and Kansas Chiropractic Association.

He was also preceded in death by his son; Robert Elliott, grandson Michael Elliott, sister; Norma Ruth Smith,and a brother; Freece Rulie Elliott.

He is survived by his wife of the past 22 years; Nancy Elliott, children; Laura Vaughn, Linda Leary, Monica, Taylor, and Heather Giandrea, Brothers; Dr. S.M. Elliott and Hoarce Elliott, 9 grandchildren and three greatgrandsons.
