GEORGE CASTLEBURY.

George Lewis Castlebury was born February 8, 1874, in Olathe, Kansas, and died February 11, 1908, at Dallas, Texas, aged 34 years and 4 days.

Deceased was educated in the public schools of Olathe and made a trip to England with his mother after completing his work in school.

Young Castlebury displayed dramatic talent early in life, always manifesting much interest in the plays and dramatic entertainments presented by the high school while, he was a member of that institution. He was ever ready to assist in a home talent effort and took great pleasure in portraying life's drama in tne diversified manner in which it so often appears. In fact the boy at twelve years of age displays much talent appearing in a number of performances which indicated that he possessed dramatic talent to a great degree. He had a remarkable conception of the characters which he undertook to interpret and gave such a vivid realization to his "stage life" that he soon attracted attention from the profession. Accordingly, as early as 1893 he was engaged as a professional with the Page Dramatic Company, where he made a decided success. His professional career was very gratifying. He loved dramatic art for art's sake and was always in demand. He was with "Cupid at Vassar," at the time of his death.

Mr. Castlebury was married to Miss Lulu McConnell of Kansas City in 1903, from which union there is a son, William, about five years of age. Deceased was very popular with his associates and made friends easily. Numerous letters have been received by his mother from friends of her son, who are strangers to her, all bearing testimony of his ability and character.

Funeral services were held from the M. E. church, Friday afternoon, Rev. Mr. Bowman, the pastor, officiating.

The following were the pall bearers: T. A. Sutton, J, S. Pellett, Will H. Hyer, C. F. Pettyjohn, O. J. Scott and O. B. Bellar.

Interment was had in Olathe cemetery.
