Mrs. Rhoda Towner Furry
Mrs. Rhoda Towner Furry, 91, died yesterday at her home, three and one-half miles southwest of Olathe. She was born in Livingston County, Illinois, and had been a resident of the Olathe vicinity about eighty years. She recalled having heard the guns at the Battle of Westport. Her husband, William B. Furry, a farmer died in 1920. When she was a young woman Mrs. Furry taught in the district schools in Johnson County. She was a member of the First Baptist church, Olathe, and the Women's Relief Corps. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. may Cowden, Olathe, and Miss Catherine Furry of the home; two sons, Horace Furry and Towner Furry of the home; a sister, Miss Nora Towner, Olathe, and sever brothers Ben Towner, Warren Towner and Nathan Towner, Olathe; John Towner, Naco, Ariz; Loren Towner, Sanger, Calif; Frank Towner, Rialto, Calif., and William Towner, Paola, Kas.
