The Life of Oscar Barry Deaton

Oscar B. Deaton 64, of Spring Hill, Kan., passed away March 18. 2006 at Beverly Health Care Center, Spring Hill. Graveside services with military honors will be at 11:30 a.m., Wednesday March 22, 2006 at Olathe Memorial Cemetery, burial in Veterans' Circle. Visitation will be at 10 a..m., before the services at Bruce Funeral Home, 712 S. Webster Spring Hill. 913-592-2224.

Oscar was born July 17, 1941 in Ocheltree, Kan. He was a graduate of Olathe High School and served in the U.S. Marines from 1959-1963. He was a member of the Olathe American Legion Post #153 & VFW and was also a Mason. Oscar made a living in sales and later was a greeter at Wal-Mart in Olathe.

Preceding him in death are his parents, Oscar Daniel Deaton and Rosie Jane (Linder) Deaton; brothers, Donald Edward Deaton and Delmar Dougan; and sisters. Marie Morrison and Janice Caudill.

Survivors include two sons, Daniel Deaton of Orange County _ Calif., and John Deaton and wife Cindy of Lawson, Mo.: three sisters. Betty Patrick of Olathe, Mary Ann Steffen of Ottawa,. Kan. and Lura J. Baker of DeSoto; and one grandson, John Deaton, IL
