W. W. FRYE DIES AT 84

JOHNSON COUNTY BANKER HAD BEEN ILL TWO WEEKS

Formerly He Was a Partner With Brother in Olathe Furniture and Undertaking Business - Funeral Monday

W. W. Frye, 84, Olathe, a Johnson County banker since 1905, died yesterday at St. Luke's hospital. He had been ill about two weeks.

Mr. Frye had been president of the State Bank of Stanley since 1925 and vice-president of the First national bank of Olathe since 1921. he was one of the organizers of the Stanley bank in 1905.

Mr. Frye formerly was associated with the Grange movement twenty-seven years and managed Grange stores at Gardner, Stanley, and Olathe. From 1912 to 1926 he was in partnership with a brother, W. L. Frye, in the Frye Brothers furniture and undertaking business.

Mr. Frye was born at Point Pleasant, O., and moved to a farm near De Soto in 1877. In 1906 he moved from Stanley to Olathe to become manager of the Grange store. He was a member of the First Presbyterian church, Olathe. He and his wife, Mrs. Myrtle Lowman Frye, observed their fiftieth wedding anniversary November 7, 1951.

Also surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Edith C. Hyer, Olathe, and a brother, W. L. Frye, director of the W. L. Frye & Sons funeral home, Olathe.

Services will be held at 10 o'clock Monday at the First Presbyterian church, Olathe. Burial will be in Olathe Cemetery. the body will be at the Frye chapel from 4 until 8 o'clock Sunday. The family requests no flowers and suggests contributions to the Olathe Community hospital. The pallbearers, all associates at the First National bank of Olathe: Harvey Jetmore, Harrel Thomas, Bernard Hale, Murray Hodges, Loyd Craig, Fred Johnson, Sr., Clayton Brenner, and Hugh Thompson.
