Stella May (Cowden) Crites 
Stella May (Cowden) Crites, 90, of Olathe, passed away Wednesday, October 11, 2006, at home. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m., Friday, October 13, 2006, at McGilley and Frye Chapel, 105 E. Loula St, Olathe. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m., Saturday, at the funeral home. Burial will be held at Olathe Memorial Cemetery. 
Stella was born October 25, 1915, in Olathe. She was employed by Hercules Powder Plant and Shawnee Mission Hospital Cafeteria as a salad maker. She attended the Westside Church of the Nazarene. Stella was preceded in death by her infant son, John Albert Van Hecke; mother, Nora May Furry Cowden; father, Vesper Earl Cowden; husband, James Benjamin Crites; great-nephew, David Edward Dieffenbaugh; and brother, John William Cowden. Survivors include her niece, Billie Jeanne Cowden Peattie of Dandridge, Tenn.; great-niece, Cathie Anneliese Dieffenbaugh of Sevierville, Tenn.; sister-in-law, Thelma Elizabeth Cowden of Gardner; and very special friends, Donna and Marvin E. Dieffenbaugh of Olathe.
