The Life of Elizabeth Elma Hunzinger

Death of Mrs. J. R. Hunzinger

Elizabeth Elma Tate was born in Fayette County, Pa., March 21 1836. She was married to J. R. Hunzinger in Uniontown, Pa., in 1877 and came to Olathe in 1878.

She was the granddaughter of a Revolutionary soldier, a man who carried Gen Brandywine off the field. Having no children she and Mr. Hunzinger reared his nephew, Fred Willis, who passed away thirty-three years ago. They also reared Elma Tate Wallace, a niece of hers, who survives.

Besides her husband and niece she leaves two brothers, A. R. Tate of Winterset, Iowa and M. V. Tate of Elkins, Arkansas. She was a member of the Baptist church at Uniontown, Pa., and never moved her membership from there. She died December 17, 1928, age 92 years, 9 months and 12 days.

The funeral service ws held at Juliens' Chapel Wednesday at 2 o'clock, conducted by Rev. F. C. Everitt of the First Presbyterian church. Burial in the Olathe cemetery.

Just think of the good accomplished by this good woman in her lifetime of 92 years- almost a century. For 50 years we have known her and have been in the home many times- especially when Fred was alive. She was possessed of a sweet, kindly disposition which gave great charm to her loveliness of character.
