The Life of Catharine Belle Kelly

MRS. CATHERINE KELLY.

Mrs. Catherine Kelly, residing on East Poplar Street, was found dead on the floor of her bedroom last Sunday evening about 6 o''clock, by her daughter-in-law,  Mrs. Jas. Kelly. Mrs. Kelly had been in her usual health, excepting a slight ailment with rheumatism. That day her son, James Kelly, who lives .near, had taken her Sunday dinner to her and she said she would spend the afternoon sleeping. Mr. Kelly went by her home at 2 o''clock, knocked on me door and received no response and supposed his mother was asleep. He returned by there at ''5 ''o''clock, again knocked, but received no response his time. He still thought she was sleeping, but did not look into the bedroom to see. About 6 o''clock his wife came by, looked in the window and saw her lying dead on the floor.

The funeral service will he heild from the Catholic Church at 9 o’clock, Friday morning. Mrs. Kelly was born "in Ireland in 1841 and was married September T5, 1856, to Michael Kelly. They came to Wyandotte county the same year and in ''57 came to Johnson county and homesteaded live miles northeast of Olathe, where Mr. Kelly died in 1897, and a few years later, Mrs Kelly moved to Olathe. The following children survive: Mrs. Carl Phillips, Mrs. Anna Swift, Mrs. Joe Baumgartner, Mrs. A. L. Milami, James, John, PhiIIip, Peter, M. F and Will. Mrs. Kelly had been a member of the Catholic Church since the first church was built here. Her life was filled with usefulness and kindly deeds and she leaves a blessed memory to endure in the hearts of many.
