The Life of Nancy R Newton

Mrs. A. G. Newton died at her home on South Water street Friday, October 5, after an illness of several weeks from typhoid fever. She was 71 years and three months old. The funeral was held from the home Saturday at 10.30 o'clock, conducted by Rev. J A Grier of the United Presbyterian church. Nancy R Emms was born in Panesville, Ohio, in 1835. She was married to A. G. Newton February 22, 1871 at Oregon, Wis., and soon afterwards came to Johnson county and settled on a farm east of Olathe where they lived until 1889, when they moved to their present home in this city, where she resided until she parsed peacefully away. A husband, A. G. Newton, and two children, Mrs. Lloyd Hamill, of this city and E. S. Newton, survive her.
