The Life of Daniel Murdock

Daniel Murdock died at his residence south of Olathe, Monday afternoon, at 4 o'' clock, of pneumonia. Mr. Murdock was born near Glasgow. Scotland; in August, 1823, was left an orphan at 14 years of age, came to the United States when be was 21, and to Kansas in 1864. He first located on a farm in Oxford township, but several years ago moved to his place adjoining Olathe. He leaves a widow to mourn his loss, two daughters – Mrs. Ed Maltby of Liberty, Mo., and Mrs. Chas. Flanner of Columbus, Kan., two sons and a host of friends to mourn their great loss. The funeral will be held at the Christian church at 11 o''clock a. m. today, conducted by Rev. C. Pomeroy. The remains will be interred in Olathe cemetery.
