An Unexpected Summons.

Mrs. Susie McKoin died at the Hackett House last Saturday, March 2nd, at 11 o'clock a. m., with that dread disease, consumption, aged 39 years and 2 months.

The circumstances surrounding the death of Mrs. McKoin were sad indeed, she having just arrived from Albuquerqee, N. M., accompanied by her husband, Jno. J. McKoin, only a few moments before the final summons came, with the hope of spending the last few days of life with old Olathe friends.

Perhaps the immediate cause of death was the too sudden change in altitude and climate. Mr. and Mrs. McKoin have been in the Indian school service for several years, first at the Quapaw Agency in the Indian Territory and since last year at Albuquerque, N. M., where Mr. McKoin had been promoted to a superintendency.

The two children of the deceased, aged 14 and 11 years respectively, were notified at once in their New Mexico home, and arrived in Olathe Monday morning. The funeral services were held at the Presbyterian church Monday afternoon at 3 o'clock, conducted by Rev. A. V. Stout, after which the body was laid to rest in Olathe cemetery
