Devin Robert Smith, 30, of Gardner, Kan., passed away Sunday, November 19, 2006, at KU Medical Center, KCK. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday, November 24, 2006, at Grace United Methodist Church, 11485 Ridgeview Road, Olathe, Kan. Burial will follow at Olathe Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m. before the services. Memorial contributions may be made to the Devin Smith Memorial Fund in care of the First Kansas Bank of Gardner. Devin was born July 5, 1976, in Springfield, Mo. His parents are Robert G. Smith and Darla Jean Gregory Smith. He grew up in Olathe, graduating from Olathe North High School in 1995. Devin moved to Gardner in 2002. He married Tonya Ann Chappuie on April 26, 2003, in Olathe, Kan. He was a professional painter for R.T. Painting in Olathe for the last three years. He was an avid baseball / softball player, playing in Little League, high school, and with the Johnson County Men's Softball League. Devin is survived by his wife Tonya and their daughter Anissa, of the home; his father, Robert G. Smith of Gardner; his mother, Darla Jean Smith of KCMO; paternal grandmother Anna Lee Dolisi Smith of Gardner and maternal grandfather Bill Gregory of California.
