The Life of Daniel B Smith

DANIEL B. SMITH.

Daniel B. Smith was born in Rushville, Illinois, September 2, 1836, and died at his home near Olathe April 29, 1912, after a short illness of pnemonia, aged 75 years, 7 months, and 27 days. The funeral services were held at Ryan's undertaking parlors Thursday morning, May 2, at 10 o'clock, conducted by Rev. H. O. Holter, and burial was in Olathe cemetery. The early part of Mr. bmith's life was spent in mercantile work, but failing health made it necessary for him to take up rural life. He moved to Olathe about four years ago and located on a small farm "just east of the city limits, where he has since resided.

Mr. Smith's wife died in 1877, leaving him one son and one daughter, the son, Mr. Homer Smith of Canton, Illinois, surviving him. He is also survived by two sisters and three brothers. Mr. Smith was a very estimable man and a highly respected citizen, and it is with genuine regret that we chronicle his death.
