The Life of Julia S Woodworth

Death of Mrs. J. D. Woodworth.

The death of Mrs. J. D. Woodworth occurred at the home of her father, George B. Alger, on North Water, Tuesday morning, July 27, 1920, after a lingering illness of two or three years.

 Miss Julia Osgood was the first white child born in Olathe, was born March 20, 1858, being the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles A. Osgood, pioneer residents of Johnson county. She was only a child at the time of Quantrell''s raid but she remembered the fact that her mother carried her and rode to Leavenworth on horse back after eluding some o Quantrell''s men. Practically all of her life was spent In and near Olathe. She was married to Mr. J. D. Woodworth, March 12, 1889; at Olathe and to this union one son, Charles R. of Topeka. Kan was born. About two years ago Mr. and Mrs. Woodworth moved to Lansing, where Mr, Woodworth was a guard in the penitentiary.

Mrs. Woodworth was a woman whom everyone loved, a good neighbor a devoted wife and a conscientious mother and to her mother, daring a long period of Illness she was a faithful daughter. She Is survived by her husband, J. D.  Woodworth, father, George B.'' Alger, of Olathe, and son Charles R and wife of Topeka.
