ELIZA BLACK DEAD.

On Sunday morning at 9 o'clock, Mrs. Eliza Mary Black, who would have been 91 years old had she lived until the 24th of next month, died at the home of her son, George Black, near Lone Elm. Mrs. Black had an attack of pneumonia about six weeks ago and, although she got through this safely, it is thought that she was so weakened from her struggle, that this hastened her death.

Elizabeth Ainsworth was born in Ohio in '21 and in '41 was married to James Black. They lived in Ohio until their only child, George, came home from the War and they then moved to Kansas in '66, settling on a sod farm near Lone Elm, Which has been her home ever since, excepting a few years when she lived in Olathe while her granddaughter, Effie, was attending school.

Mrs. Black was a sister of another old timer in Johnson county, Newton Ainsworth. She was a woman loved and revered by all and was a member of the United Presbyterian Church. She was quite active in church work in her younger days and even now attended church occasionally. The funeral was held at the United Presbiterian Church, Tuesday afternoon.
